Numerous pickleball accessories are available on the market, all provided by companies eager for you to invest in them with the promise of enhancing your game. Everything from wearable accessories to training aids, there is no shortage of gadgets to spend money on.

While some items in this list may be a bit gimmicky, I held no bias and put them all out there for you to decide. Whether you’re looking to be that person with every available gadget known to man trying to “buy” a better game, or just looking for that one item that your game could use, I’ve got you covered. Whatever your goal, here are 29 pickleball accessories to add to your toolkit.

 Training Aid Pickleball Accessories

I had to list this one first, as it is one of the coolest and most fun items in this entire article. If you’re serious about your game, this thing will help you in those intense practice sessions when you don’t have a playing partner. It has adjustable speeds and angles to serve up any type of shot want. A cool spiral design that holds 18 balls and is easily transported. It’s the ultimate way to level up your game. Of course, if you’re looking for something a little bigger that holds more balls, you can always opt for a big-time machine like the Lobster Pickleball Machine that holds 125 balls.

This is another useful training aid when you don’t have a playing partner and playing solo. There are several different rebounders to choose from, so do your research and choose one that best fits your needs. I selected this one as it has some visual aids to help and includes a mini net so you can practice virtually anywhere.

This is one of those pickleball accessories I would encourage everyone to buy if you want the most efficient way to improve your game. This paddle has a smaller surface with a smaller sweet spot designed to make you more precise. If you can get good playing with a training paddle such as this one. You will dominate with a standard paddle. Switching from a training paddle to a standard paddle will feel like cheating.

These training balls will help you work on your spin game. The halves are different colors so that you can see how the ball is spinning when it leaves your paddle surface. A great item to help you work on those spin shots.

These are great for increasing accuracy and shot placement. Just attach them to the net in the location of your choosing and practice hitting the ball through the opening. Pro tip: do this in combination with the training paddle mentioned above and your accuracy will improve tremendously.

Pickleball Equipment Bags

A good pickleball bag keeps your gear organized and protected. Look for a bag with ample space, compartments, and durability. Here are some different types to consider:

Specifically designed for pickleball, this is probably one of the most popular bags to carry all of your pickleball accessories. This backpack-style bag is trendy, versatile, and large enough for most pickleballers.

If you have less to carry and don’t need the space of a standard backpack, the sling-style bag may be the best option for you. These are handy and a little more effortless than the other bags.

If you need style and glam in your accessory bag, you can always go for one of the up-scale bags, such as those offered by Ame & Lulu, like the Hamptons bag. Just be prepared to shell out some money for one of these.

At the end of the day, you can’t go wrong with a good duffel bag to carry your gear. If you have a lot of stuff to carry and need the bag with the most space, this is probably your best bet. There’s no need to go expensive for one of these, any sports-style bag will suffice, like the Adidas Defender.

Pickleball Apparel Accessories

A good pair of sunglasses is one of the most important accessories on this list, in my opinion. These are a must-have for outdoor pickleball. Look for a pair with a good athletic fit to stay put during those intense rallies. I also recommend opting for ones with shatterproof lenses in case a ball hits them. You never know what can happen!

A headband is a personal preference and not a crucial item. However, if you find yourself struggling to keep the sweat out of your eyes, a headband can be a game-changer.

Similar to the above item, not a huge deal, but can come in handy if you struggle to keep your hands dry.

Compression gear offers a variety of benefits for athletes. It is especially beneficial if you have a troubled joint such as a knee or elbow, adding additional support. It can also improve blood circulation and reduce muscle fatigue, as well as help increase blood flow, reducing the buildup of lactic acid and preventing swelling. I’m listing a few here that could be helpful for you.

Increased control in your shot-making is a big advantage on the pickleball court, and a glove can make a huge difference. I strongly recommend you give this a try and see if it improves your game. Sometimes just having the glove on gives you that added mental confidence that is worth the investment.

Pickleball Paddle Accessories

These are useful to have. It is basically a Magic eraser for your paddle. Not only does it remove dirt and residue from play, but it also keeps the surface of your paddle clear of debris that will alter a shot. A must-have for a smooth and consistent strike.

Another useful item to keep your paddle in good condition and protect it from wear and tear. As much as some paddles cost these days, this might be a good item to protect your investment.

When you’re not satisfied with the stock grip on your paddle, you can opt for an overgrip to give it extra thickness. In addition, an overgrip will absorb shock, giving you a smoother shot experience.

If your paddle feels too light, lead tape is an easy and effective way to add a little extra weight. This is easy to apply or remove if you later decide you don’t like it.

The edge of the paddle surface can take a beating over time. Again, as much as paddles can cost, this is another good purchase to protect your investment. It easily fits to the edge of the paddle and can be replaced when worn.

Miscellaneous Pickleball Accessories

Of course, you need balls and this may not be necessary for this list. I just wanted to point out that it may be a good idea to invest in both types of balls to keep in your bag, indoor and outdoor. There is a difference between indoor pickleballs and outdoor pickleballs and you will want to be ready to go no matter where you decide to play. Here are some good options:

If you like to spend time on the court practicing your game, you will likely take a lot of balls with you, especially if you are using a launcher. While this is great for your game, it will leave you with a mess of balls all over the court. That’s where this handy tube comes in. You can easily pick up the balls without bending down. It’s a time saver and a back saver. Certainly a great pickleball accessory to keep in your arsenal.

I’m not completely sold on this one, it seems like it might impede your ability to swing the paddle. But, with sales in the thousands and a 4.5-star rating, it must be a helpful accessory to have. It certainly would save your back from bending over so much, so perhaps the pros outweigh the cons.

You never know when an accident will happen. With falls being so common in pickleball, you or anyone else on the court with you could end up with a nasty scratch or cut that needs tending to.

If a call ever comes into question, it's good to have the official pickleball rulebook in your bag to make sure play stays fair.

Pickleball aside, a portable Bluetooth speaker is just a great thing to have. There are dozens to choose from, so do your research and get the one that fits your needs.

No explanation is needed. Stay hydrated.

A must-have for those hot days on the court to keep yourself dry.

This is also a nice accessory when the temps are soaring. A cooling towel can be a great way to stay cool during a hot pickleball match. Very useful off the court as well, you may find yourself using one of these for all those outdoor summertime activities.

This is one of those less-known pickleball accessories that can be a game-changer if you struggle with sweaty hands. It repels moisture and leaves you with a good grip after use. This could be a secret weapon that improves your game experience.

Another enhancer to maintain a dry grip. These are super cheap as well.

This one may not be one of the most needed pickleball accessories, but it can be useful if keeping score is a struggle. These are also popular in tournaments when you have a dedicated person to keep score. There are several types to choose from, here’s another one that fits on the paddle, which is convenient.

Having the right pickleball accessories can elevate your game and ensure you're playing at your best. From paddles to protective gear, each accessory plays a vital role in your performance. Invest in quality gear and enjoy the game to the fullest. Happy playing!
